John P. Walker, is an experienced leader in the biotechnology industry and currently serves as chairman of the Board of Directors forNovacea and for Renovis, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Affymax, Inc. and Geron Corporation. During his 35-year career, Mr. Walkerhas served as Chairman, CEO or interim CEO of a number of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including KAIPharmaceuticals and of Guava Technologies. From 1993 to 2001, he was Chairman, CEO, and a director of AXYS Pharmaceuticals Inc. and its predecessor company Arris Pharmaceutical Corporation. Prior to Arris, Mr. Walker was Chairman and CEO of Vitaphore Corporation, a biomaterials company that was sold to Union Carbide Chemical and Plastics Company, Inc. Mr. Walker began his career with American Hospital Supply Corporation, where he held a variety of general management, sales, and operational positionsand served as President of American Medical Systems and The Hospital Company.

James Blair, Ph.D., is a general partner of Domain Associates and has over 30 years of experience with venture and emerging growth companies. In the course of this experience, Dr. Blair has been involved in the creation and successful development of over 30 life sciences ventures, including Amgen, Aurora Biosciences, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Applied Biosystems, Cytovia (acquired by Maxim Pharmaceuticals), Dura Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Elan), Molecular Dynamics (acquired by Amersham Pharmacia Biotech), Trega Biosciences and Vista Medical. Dr. Blair currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cancer Research Institute and CapCure, and is on the Advisory Board of the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. Dr. Blair received a B.S.E. from Princeton University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Eckard Weber, M.D., is a Founder of Novacea. Dr. Weber is a Partner at Domain Associates where he searches for novel drug products or technologies and founds biotechnology and biopharmaceutical start-up companies around those products or technologies. Dr. Weber actively manages, on an interim-basis, the companies he founds until permanent, full-time management has been recruited. Dr. Weber has been founding CEO of multiple biopharmaceutical companies in the Domain portfolio including Cytovia, Acea Pharmaceuticals, Novacea, NovaCardia, Novalar Pharmaceuticals, Orexigen Therapeutics, Domain Antibacterial Acquisition Corporation, Ascenta Therapeutics, Konova, and Renovia. He currently serves as interim CEO of Tragara Pharmaceuticals and Syndax Pharmaceuticals, two seed-stage biopharmaceutical companies. He is Chairman of the Board at Novacea, NovaCardia, Cerexa, Orexigen, Novalar, Renovia and Ascenta. In addition, he is a board member of Conforma Therapeutics, DiObeX and Biovascular, Inc. Until 1995, Dr. Weber was a tenured Professor of Pharmacology at the University of California at Irvine. He has over 20 years of drug discovery and development experience and has been a consultant to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. He is the inventor or co-inventor of over 40 patents and patent applications, and he has published over 130 papers in scientific periodicals.

James Healy, M.D., Ph.D., is a Managing Director at Sofinnova Ventures, focused on building successful companies serving medical markets. Prior to joining Sofinnova, Dr. Healy was a partner at Sanderling Ventures where he was the lead or a founding investor in several early stage biomedical companies. He is an author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications on the molecular aspects of immune regulation. He has previously held positions at Miles (Bayer) Pharmaceuticals, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Healy is a member of various professional associations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of InterMune Pharmaceuticals, BioSpace.com and other privately-held companies. He received a B.A. in molecular biology and a B.A. in Scandinavian studies from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated with highest honors. Dr. Healy completed his M.D. and earned his Ph.D. in immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine.

Jay Moorin is a founding partner of ProQuest Investments. For the seven years prior, Mr. Moorin served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Magainin Pharmaceuticals Inc., a venture-backed biotechnology company that raised over $150 million in private and public capital. Previously, he worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. as a Managing Director, Health Care Banking, where he was involved in a number of transactions including financings and acquisitions for both large and small pharmaceutical, medical device and distribution companies. In 1983, he joined E.R. Squibb and Sons Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and worked in marketing/sales, strategy and general management. He became Vice President of Marketing & Business Development in the SquibbMark Division. Mr. Moorin currently serves on the Board of Directors of Acurian (Chairman), Epic Therapeutics and Circon Corporation. He is an observer to the Board of Directors of Oncology.com. In 1996, Mr. Moorin was appointed to the position of Adjunct Senior Fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Moorin received a B.A. with distinction in economics from the University of Michigan.

Camille Samuels joined Versant shortly after its formation in late 1999. She has been actively involved in Versant's investments in Biospect, Fluidigm, Genomic Health, Novacea, ParAllele, Reliant Pharmaceuticals and Syrrx. Prior to Versant, Ms. Samuels was a Director of Business Development at Tularik Inc., where she was responsible for corporate strategy and developing partnerships around clinical and preclinical therapeutic programs. She also led Tularik's Technology Acquisition Group, a group that was charged with retaining the company's technological advantage. Before Tularik, Ms. Samuels worked in business development/strategic planning at Millennium Pharmaceuticals (Predictive Medicine Division) and Genzyme Corporation. Ms. Samuels started her career as an Associate Consultant with LEK Consulting, providing management consulting and M&A advisory services primarily to healthcare clients. Ms. Samuels earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she graduated as a Baker Scholar. In 2002, The Aspen Institute named Ms. Samuels a Henry Crown Fellow.

Michael Raab joined NEA in June 2002 and specializes in healthcare investments focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to joining NEA, Mr. Raab was most recently Senior Vice President, Therapeutics and General Manager, Renagel at Genzyme Corporation where he turned Renagel into a $1 billion opportunity. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Business Development for the Therapeutics Division, responsible for the identification and in-licensing of new therapeutic product opportunities. Mr. Raab gained extensive international experience while building a commercial operation in Latin American for the Therapeutics and Surgical Products groups for the company. Mr. Raab was also Product Manager for Ceredase and was instrumental in the worldwide launch of Cerezyme, Genzyme's $600 million therapies for Gaucher Disease, and spent two years with Genzyme's Diagnostic Products and Services Division. Previous to Genzyme, Mr. Raab held sales and marketing positions at Repligen and Bristol-Myers. He received a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University.

Lowell E. Sears is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Sears Capital Management, Inc. Mr. Sears has been a venture investor and portfolio manager through Sears Capital Management since 1994. From 1988 until 1994 Mr. Sears was Chief Financial Officer of Amgen, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. In addition to his role as CFO with Amgen, Mr. Sears also held the position of Senior Vice President responsible for the Asia Pacific Region, establishing marketing, sales and development operations in Japan, China and other countries from 1992 through 1994. From 1986 until 1988 Mr. Sears served as Treasurer and Director of Planning for Amgen. Before joining Amgen Mr. Sears held senior planning and financial positions with Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) from 1976 until 1986, including a period as Chief Financial Officer for its Ventures Division. Mr. Sears has been an active participant in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries since 1979. Mr. Sears holds a B.A. in economics from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Daniel M. Bradbury has been Chief Executive Officer of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since March 2007, serving as President and Chief Operating Officer since 2003. He has served as a director of Amylin since June 2006. He joined Amylin in 1994 and has held officer-level positions in Corporate Development and Marketing during that time. Prior to joining Amylin, Mr. Bradbury spent ten years at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, where he held a number of sales and marketing positions. He is a member of the board of directors of Cerexa, Inc., Illumina, Inc. and Novacea, Inc. He also serves as a board member for BIOCOM. Mr. Bradbury is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and serves as Chair of the Advisory Council of the Keck Graduate Institute. He received a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Nottingham University and a Diploma in Management Studies from Harrow and Ealing Colleges of Higher Education.
